Strong, lightweight carbon composite materials have been attracting a great deal of interest across a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive manufacturing, sporting goods, etc. Currently, the mainstream type of carbon composite material is thermoset composites. Although very strong, these suffer from various problems; for example, their high cost and poor workability often make them unsuitable for commercial applications. Using our expertise in non-woven fiber technology, YUHO Co., Ltd. has developed carbon composite materials made from mixed non-woven fabric that combines carbon fiber with thermoplastic fiber. Since these materials have thermoplastic properties, they have superior workability, and press processing can be implemented in a short period of time, creating high potential for utilization in a wide range of industrial applications, including automotive manufacturing. These carbon composite materials have already been adopted for use in manufacturing components for rally cars that compete in the Japanese Rally Championship, which is testimony to just how strong and durable these materials are. We are also using our injection molding technology to develop hybrid molding products, with the aim of developing a wide range of industrial applications including EMI shielding components.
YUHO Co., Ltd. develops, manufactures and sells needle-punched non-woven fabrics and spun-laced non-woven fabrics. Rather than large-volume consumer goods, our products target the industrial functional non-woven fabric market; we work together with our customers to develop and commercialize products that meet their needs.
The great advantage of needle-punched non-woven fabrics is that, besides ordinary synthetic fiber, they can also be used for the non-woven fabric production of inorganic fiber such as glass fiber, basalt fiber, carbon fiber, silica fiber etc. that can be difficult to process because of their hardness, as well as for organic fiber with unique properties such as Aramid fiber, PBO fiber, etc.
Spun-laced non-woven fabric normally has low weight per unit area; however, by using specially-developed manufacturing technology, Yuho Co., Ltd. is able to produce spun-laced non-woven fabric with low to relatively high weight per unit area. The types of fiber that can be processed using this method include not only PET and Rayon, but also Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinyl alcohol（PVA）, silk, Splittable(dividable) fiber etc., making it suitable for the production of sheet materials with special properties.
Around 30 years ago, YUHO Co., Ltd. (which already had experience in a number of different filter assembly technologies) developed integral injection molding technology for pleated filters. Our company went on to develop a high level of expertise in integral injection molding technology that involves inserting variable-shape materials – including electret filter mediums, non-woven fabric filter mediums, net-type filter mediums, etc. – into molds; today, we develop, manufacture and sell filters for a wide range of applications, including automotive manufacturing, electrical home appliances, office machines, and various types of industrial machinery. Besides rectangular filters, we can also provide filters in special three-dimensional shapes.
Our parent company, TOYOBO MC Corporation is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electret filters. Working through our collaborative arrangement with TOYOBO MC Corporation we are able to design, manufacture and sell high-performance air-conditioning filters that use electret filter medium, as well as filters for electronic home appliances and a wide range of industrial filters.
